Projects
Below is a list of web projects created or co-created by Eric Wustrow.Philosophy
This site is used in a class project every semester for a philosophy class at my high school.
In this project, the teacher assigns his students to write a paragraph about all the other students in their respective class, reflecting and providing insight for students, from students.
Since the teacher usually has 4 or 5 classes per semester, with over 30 students each, this amounts to thousands of paragraphs that he previously had emailed to him, which he then sorted through and organized into documents consisting of all the paragraphs everyone had written about each student.
At the end of the year, if a student had written all of their paragraphs, they recieved this document consisting of the paragraphs written about them (annonymously). The website provides an interface for the students to submit and manage paragraphs, as well as for the teacher to manage, approve, organize, in addtion to many other features for each class.
Odometer
This website was created in late August 2005 by Nick Beier and myself. The main page consists of just an odometer which keeps a real time count of the age of all the users collectively are, in days.
ScoreBoard (old)
ScoreBoard was created by Nick Beier and I in the Summer of 2004. This is a site where users submit cool things they have done for points, which are given out by the graders. I believe this may have been the first project Nick and I worked on together for drastic-creations.com. It was a learning experience indeed. ScoreBoard was a sucess for the first month or so, after which user interest dropped off significantly, and the tumbleweed image was put up.
Revolution (new ScoreBoard)
After ScoreBoard died out, I decided to rewrite it completely in Spring 2006. This time, users gave each other points, and there was a "karma" system that deducted a tax of some sort. This unpopular feature was later removed.
Counter
Another in-progress project of mine. Inspired by a Christmas letter that had a count of things the family had done throughout the year (ie Pairs of shoes bought, loads of laundry, etc), I decided to make a site to keep track of all the mundane, simple tasks we do often.
Homepage Creator
Simple homepage creator, that allows you to add categories and links. Also provides the option to keep track of the number of times each link is used.
Brain
I originally envisioned this to be some sort of note-keeping website. Sort of an in progress/low priority project of mine.
The Ann Arbor Don (aka Donald McNair)
A (joke) fan site made by Nick Beier and I for our good friend Donald. Contrary to the main page "warning", Donald HAS seen the site (and found it very amusing).
Blog
A very basic blog - one of my first projects. February 2004. As a warning, I'll bet that site gets overrun by spam...pretty soon.
Computer Generated Poetry
Pretty simple script I wrote in Fall 2006 that inserts words into a template sentance structure, sometimes returning shockingly deep messages.
